How are you sensing climate change?

I’ve sensed the change through the summers getting hotter and hotter on the tennis court. Each summer it became unbearable to play outside or even sit down on the court because it became so hot on certain days. We had one shaded area outside, a small gazebo, that so many students tried to fit under for water breaks. Whenever it became too hot, we decided to have practice indoors, but this meant we’d have an overcrowding issues since the younger students always played inside.

How do these changes make you feel?

The changes were frustrating – whenever we’d have to adapt to the weather it made what we were doing not fun and feel like torture. Everyone wanted to train and be better, but not under those conditions. It became a difficult mental struggle to push yourself to complete high intensity workouts in 90+ degree weather.
