Piotr’s Climate Story

Chicago, Illinois

How are you sensing climate change?

I can sense climate change in my parent’s backyard. As a child, I remember being captivated by the glow of fireflies on warm summer nights. While trying to catch them, I could also hear the cacophony produced by the crickets hiding in the garden. These past few years, I’ve barely been able to see or hear anything; insect behaviors are shifting and their populations are dwindling due to habitat loss and climate change.
